At Radio Teesdale we carry out training in a variety of different ways ways. One of our audited funding project required us to monitor the volume of training undertaken and in a 12 month period in 2009/10 we established that we worked with 206 individuals creating the equivalent of 204 training person (8 hour) days.

The different training methods include:

• One to One Mentoring of individuals.
• Media Master Classes - Radio Teesdale is joining forces with a broadcasting consultancy to offer media training in television, radio and digital skills. We host courses at their Enterprise House studios in conjunction with Lush Places Media. The half and full day sessions will be run by broadcasting professionals and give individuals and organisations an insight into the modern media world.
• After School Clubs
• Work Placement for Journalism and Media Studies students
• Work Placement for people with Special Educational Needs
• Work Experience for Secondary School Students
• Training Programmes arranged with other organisations such as Deerbolt Young Offenders. In a recent project (as part of the MediaBox scheme) we trained a group of young people from Deerbolt HMYOI who created 3 radio programmes.
• Visits and Workshops by School Groups (Secondary and Primary)
• Visits and Workshops by community youth groups such as Scouts, Guides, Brownies, Beavers
• Visits and Workshops by Educational Establishments such as Universities, Special Needs Groups
• Talks and Workshops held with Community Groups.
• Formal training sessions on Broadcasting and Editing Skills
• Workshops with visiting experts in the field of broadcasting.
