Media Training in Focus

Radio Teesdale is joining forces with a broadcasting consultancy to offer media training in television, radio and digital skills. Radio Teesdale, which broadcasts from Barnard Castle, will be hosting the courses at their Enterprise House studios in conjunction with Lush Places Media. The half and full day sessions will be run by broadcasting professionals and give individuals and organisations an insight into the modern media world.

Radio Teesdale Station Manager Peter Dixon said: "What you say and how you say it can be crucial to the success of any organisation. And like anything there's a knack to it. These courses will give even a novice a real understanding of how to use the media."

Andrew Glover, Director of Hamsterley based Lush Places Media, is a well known broadcaster and multimedia trainer. He's been working in journalism in Northern England for nearly 30 years and has reported, produced and presented for the BBC, Sky and ITV.

He said: "Many people are apprehensive or lack confidence when they are in the camera eye or in front of a microphone. These courses are a practical hands-on way of getting over such nerves and understanding how to take control." The courses also include hints and tips on how to get the most out of the local, regional and national media and guidance on using social media including Twitter, You Tube, LinkedIn and Facebook.
