2nd July - Radio Teesdale Team on stage with the Castle Players
Audiences can see 7 members of Radio Teesdale treading the boards next week as part of the Castle Players production of Measure for Measure in the grounds of the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. The seven are all regular contributors to Radio Teesdale programmes and station announcements but this next week they are swapping microphones for a life on the stage.
Its not really surprising that with that with both our groups being such a major part of the community of Teesdale that several people will be members of both organisations. At Radio Teesdale we are delighted that seven of our members are involved in such a fantastic production as Measure for Measure with the Castle Players. We wish them every success with the show. Break a Leg!

Volunteer Linda Britton spoke to many of the Councillors and Candidates asking about their reactions and the challenges ahead. Adrian Braddy, editor of the Teesdale Mercury, was our special guest for the whole of the breakfast show adding his own insight into the results and the outcomes. 28th March - Radio station makes the news again with celebration launch
Radio Teesdale celebrated its first year in style with a fun filled birthday celebration for both volunteers and listeners at the Jersey Farm, near Barnard Castle on Friday the 28th March. The TV cameras even turned up for the celebration launch as once again Radio Teesdale made the news.
The party was both an official launch and a celebration of the radio station's first full year broadcasting, a year that saw the station thrive against all odds. A lot of the success is down to the hard work of the many volunteers who have given hours and hours of their time to making sure this radio station got off the ground, noted Station Manager Peter Dixon.
The people of Teesdale have really rallied round and supported us and this was a great occasion to celebrate the fact that the community has managed to come together and create a fantastic radio station that reflects the interests and talents of local people of all ages.
Local MP Helen Goodman and Antiques TV star Dave Harper were just a few of the 300 guests who enjoyed the evening's entertainment which included children's entertainer Eileen and Joe followed by Teesdale folk group Teesdale Folk, Teesdale's jazz quintet and one of the most talked about bands of the moment, The Conspirators.
