Name: Rantin Richie (a.k.a Peter Richardson)

Hello, I am the so called RANTIN RICHIE one of the many presenters on Radio Teesdale. Along with my two cohorts Big Dave and Andy “Lee Van Leitch”, we present the weekly show, The Sunday Supplement from 11am until 1pm. I previously did a lot of DJing for London Country Techno band the Alabama 3 who are signed to One Little Indian records along with International artist Bjork. When is it on? Sunday 11am-1pm

Why did you choose to do this type of show? The show just seemed to fall into place, thanks to the unique dynamic that I get with my 2 co hosts Big Dave and Andy, not to mention the great local fanbase we attract, who are like the fourth members of the team.

What is your favourite song of all time? It changes all the time, but at the moment I’m particularly into all the early Stax records, and in particular the work of Booker T.

If you could pick anyone, dead or alive, to have a drink with, who would it be and why? Joe Stummer. The guy was a lyrical genius and original thinker, and I’d like to have a conversation with hime about the world situation as it is, as it was, and how it could be.

Describe yourself in one word: Creative

Tell us something about you that we don’t know: I love art, and should get round to painting again. If you had to pin me down about a favourite artist that would be very difficult, as like music, I admire so many people, but I do like the briiliant colours and ideas of Severini, and am generally fascinated by Futurism.

I really enjoy playing music on Radio Teesdale and thank everyone in the community for their support as always, thank you.  Also, I think it’s a fantastic station with some great presenters with brilliant ideas, Michael Fryer, Colin Robinson, Alex James etc
