In Teesdale theres a lot to do,
From Bowes Museum and a castle too.
A country life is a ramblers scene,
When they swap their suits for walking boots.
With lovely views and super walks and even High Force too.
Around the dale the lambs at play,
Farmers thinking of the hay to be,
Gathered on a later day.
Category: YEAR 4
WINNER: Lee Robinson, Yr 4, Montalbo Primary School Special overall prize for best poem

Our historic castle and Eggleston Hall.

Teesdale, a wonderful place, the ideal country lovers space.
Walk and talk, along the country lanes.
The picturesque scene, mainly consists of green.
So the view is added to the daily routine.
The Dale. Also a place to drink lots of ale!
Sandra, Yr 6, Gainford C of E Primary School
Teesdale is the perfect place,
To take a walk, keep a slow pace
It has an amazing view,
For everyone, for me for you.
Barnard Castle, now thats old!
Stands from miles clear and bold.
Big waterfall, High Force,
Very attractive of course!
Gainford School, now thats the tool,
For smiles all around. At break time lots of sound.
From children playing in the playground.
Now Im feeling blue and low,
Seems as I have to go.
GOODBYE.
Matthew Charlton, Yr 6, Green Lane Primary School
Teesdale is a breath-taking dale,
Full of history and magnificent tales,
From the Bowes Museum to Barnard Castle,
Have a holiday without any hassle!
Come to the market once a week,
To buy, to meet, or just a peek.
The dales, the walks, the views to see,
For young, for old, for you and me.
Teesdale is the place to live,
We have so much for you to give!
