The community radio stations in the North East of England have joined together to form a group to develop and foster a relationship between the individual organizations. The group is called CRaNE (Community Radio Stations in the North East). CRaNE members for mutual benefit through regular constructive communication and the exchange of information and experiences. Regular membership is open to all institutions (delineated by limited company) in the north east of England (being Northumberland and County Durham and the geographically related conurbations) that either hold a Community Radio license or have held an RSL license and are actively applying to Ofcom for a Community Radio license.

Key Commitments: Community Voice FM aims to provide an opportunity for all sections of the community of Middlesbrough to have access to a local broadcast medium which would give a voice to community issues, concerns and interests and seek to overcome the isolation experienced by members of the community because of age, ill health, language barriers or lack of social support networks for example.
