The Castle Players

The Castle Players From its early broadcast days in 2004 Radio Teesdale has worked closely with the Castle Players to bring listeners regular news of the productions. Indeed several people are active members of both groups. The Castle Players are one of Radio Teesdale’s Media Partners. The 2004 production of Christmas Carol, complete with sound effects, is regularly repeated over the Christmas Holidays. The two community groups have also worked closely together to adapt Castle Players productions for a radio audience.

One of the first major recordings made by Radio Teesdale following the commencement of full time broadcasting in 2007 was a full version of the Turret’s production of “45 Minutes.”  A short time later that year extracts of “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” were made.  The third recording that year was arguably one of the most ambitious made to date with a full radio adaptation of the Winter production for that year, “Grimm!” complete with all the sound effects and original music.
