Radio Teesdale has been awarded £12,692 from Ofcom from the latest Community Radio Fund.  Since Radio Teesdale began broadcasting on a full time license in March 2007 this is the third award received from Ofcom.  The funds are to support the fundraising activity of the station in order to help secure its longer term future.

In making the award Ofcom said that they aim to fund core activities and those which will improve the sustainability of a station. The Panel considers promoting long-term sustainability a critical, core activity, such as those focusing on fund-raising and business development. In assessing the competing needs of stations the Panel has allocated the majority of its funding to new licensees but it is pleased that in this round it has been able to make a number of grants to previous successful applicants (like Radio Teesdale).

Radio Teesdale has been a great success since we first began operating as far back as 2003.  In order to continue our present level of activity we need to raise at least £60k a year.  This is a very welcome boost to that aim for 2010.
